How Do I know if I need a Wheel Alignment Check?

If you’ve noticed one or more of these indicators, you should have your alignment checked by one of our technicians.

  • Vehicle pulling to the left or right.
  • Your steering wheel is off center when driving straight.
  • Steering wheel vibration.

What is Alignment?

Alignment refers to an adjustment of a vehicle’s suspension – the system that connects a vehicle to its wheels. It is not an adjustment of the tyres or wheels themselves. The key to proper alignment is adjusting the angles of the tyres which affects how they make contact with the road.

Why Should I Check My Alignment?

Keeping your wheel alignment within the correct specifications can help your tyres perform properly and help them last longer. It can also improve handling and keep your vehicle from pulling in one direction or vibrating differently on the road.

How Do We Do It?

We use the very latest Bosch 3D Computerised Four Wheel Alignment System which takes precise and accurate measurements using cameras and sensor heads, providing an in-depth print out of before and after measurements including camber, toe and caster.

four wheel alignment - What do we check?

This is the inward or outward angle of the tyre when viewed from the front of the vehicle. Too much inward or outward tilt, also known as negative and positive camber, indicates improper alignment and that adjustments will need to be made. Worn bearings, ball joints, and other suspension parts may contribute to camber misalignment.

In contrast to camber alignment, toe alignment is the extent to which your tyres turn inward or outward when viewed from above. When the tyres on your car are angled the same way we call this toe-in alignment. If the tyres on your vehicle are angled outward then you have toe-out alignment. Both require adjustment.

Your caster angle helps balance steering, stability, and cornering. It’s the angle of your steering axis when viewed from the side of your vehicle. If you have positive caster, the steering axis will tilt toward the driver. If you have negative caster, the steering axis tilts toward the front of your vehicle.
